PMO 101: The Armada Way

Sunday, December 5th, 2010

Project management is a critical function of any IT project, big or small.  Armada’s project managers ensure attention to detail, collaboration, and leadership during key project executions and migrations.  Without the experience gained from numerous successful project completions, some companies may not have the resources and/or expertise to execute the project to the required standard, or even worse, may not complete the project at all.

The Standish Group’s most recent CHAOS report states most IT projects do not “succeed”, which is a clear indication of how managing a project determines the outcome.  It’s that simple.

  • 32% Succeeded – delivered on time, on budget
  • 44% Challenged – late, over budget, and/or with less than the required features and functions
  • 24% Failed – cancelled prior to completion or delivered and never used

The basic principles of project management may sound elemenentary to most; however, they can be challenging to internalize and appropriately execute. Armada’s project managers are commited to PMO fundamentals and follow the basic principles and standards of the Project Management Institute (PMI) to develop a customized plan for each client with clearly defined project milestones and bugetarily-minded resource allocation.
